Members of the Jackson-Butts County Rotary Club provided a Valentine’s dinner to local senior citizens on Valentine’s Day. The Valentine’s dinner and dance provided an opportunity for friends from around Butts County to mingle. Guests were treated to a dinner of spaghetti, salad and dessert in the Butts County Administration Building, all while listening to classic love songs from the likes of Sam Cooke and Frank Sinatra. After eating, those in attendance were invited to the dance floor to cut a rug and to mingle with friends. The event was open to all county residents ages 50 and older.
Tim Broyles, president of the Jackson-Butts County Rotary Club, said members of the organization were grateful for the chance to serve up meals for dinner guests. “It’s a great opportunity to be able to give back to the seniors in our community and to let them know they’re cared for,” he said.
